Some books become iconic. These books stretch far beyond their original publication and become a stepping stone to change society’s thoughts, but they also perpetuate a term. One comparison needs to stop today. The phrase “Stepford Wives” is my personal vomit inducing analogy.
In 1972, Ira Levin penned one of the greatest women’s liberation pieces by writing what was coined as ‘satirical thriller’ when he released his FICTIONAL novel, “The Stepford Wives.” Today, his title has become ammunition which is currently being hurled in all directions.
